C’est la Vie

We are very proud to have reached our twentieth year of films in Keswick; we have been bringing ‘alternative films’ here since 1998 and hope to continue for at least another 20 years. DO come along and see for yourself!
The year started off well with 165 people watching the French farce ‘C’est La Vie’, which went down well, especially in the last 30 minutes (‘I have never heard so much laughing in the Alhambra’) though I will admit to thinking the first 30 minutes were pretty boring!
If you can imagine a very large wedding in a huge chateau, where the groom thinks he is the bee’s knees, the wedding planner is close to a nervous breakdown and his staff are incompetent and argumentative, you will get the gist of the film; what can go wrong, will go wrong! From stand-in musicians to food poisoning; from a photographer more interested in women and eating the snacks to a waiter who is in love with the bride.
The stand out parts of the film were the scenes of the groom flying through the air doing aerobatics attached to a huge moon-like balloon (which was, of course, accidently released by the two crew who were busy kissing each other) and the groom’s mother who came back looking VERY pleased with herself after disappearing with that photographer...
It being a French farce, all worked out well in the end, leaving the guests and the crew happy...and the Keswick audience leaving with smiles on their faces
