A Night At The Opera

Fortunately for us, we had a total change on Tuesday night with the first of our season's classics – the Marx Brothers 'A Night at the Opera'; phew, this one was so much more fun than 'Hard To Be A God' on Sunday! Their zany, anarchic humour was a great relief.
In this case, the plot surely doesn't really matter (only their humour really counts for me), but the three brothers are trying their best to upset all the establishment of the New York Opera by getting an unknown singer the lead part.
Along the way, we have the now famous scenes such as the 'sanity clause' in the contract ("you can't fool me, there is no such thing as sanity clause"); the totally overcrowded bedroom on the boat where more and more people are let in by Groucho; and the policeman looking round Groucho's apartment while the 3 men he is looking for gradually move the furniture from one room to the next without him seeing them... you get the point!
